Elder Norris goes to the MTC

Here is a video of Alex as we dropped him off at the MTC.  He was so pumped he almost jumped out of the truck. Not the best video, but, it'll have to do. I have been trying to add this to the main page of the blog; can't get it right, so for now I'll post it here.

(I had asked what Christmas treats he wanted and about gloves and things).....Well, cashew brittle, and caramels. Guess what grandma, I have lost fifteen pounds since I have been here. The suit is a little to big... oh well. And no I don't have gloves, and it is about five degrees outside without wind, but I can just stick my hands in my pockets. the worst is when I have to go to gym in shorts and a t-shirt, but for some reason I usually feel warm during that time. I am good without gloves. I would like mail though... I haven't gotten mail in over a week :( Claire is the only one who has sent me a reply yet. But all is well, and the Zone likes me! There is an hermana (sister) from Barcelona that is in my zone and she is really funny. She doesn't speak English too well though.

Note:  Missionaries need contact from family and friends, however, I know that people have sent him mail; the holidays make things slower. But, just in case anyone is wondering how to send him something.....

Mail can be sent a few ways; snail mail at the address below, or, thru DearElder.com (which is free &  delivered daily).  You will need the following underlined information from his address for the DearElder.com method:

Second email received by Grandma Leslie

Sent December 3rd, 2013 2:41 p.m.

Thanksgiving went great ( by the way my p day is Tuesday) and Elder Russel M. Nelson came to talk to us. That was my first time seeing one of the twelve apostles in person and man I have a strong testimony of them now. Literally as soon as he walked in, I started to cry. We did a service project on thanksgiving, and according to the president of LDS humanitarian services, it was the second largest project in church history. We made 350,280 meals for children who go home hungry on the weekends. Woohoo! Oh and then we saw a movie you should watch, it is called Ephraim's rescue. It is great. So, you say it is cold in the Tri-Cities? Well there is about a foot of snow here at the MTC, and it is STILL snowing. We had a snowball fight earlier. I met a missionary going to the Kennewick mission, I told him to convert my friends and family haha. Well, it is hard to write in English when all we do is speak Spanish here. When you get my SD card, you will notice that only three of us are white in the advanced class, and I am the only one who learned in school. Elder Rossel has a full Cuban father and I don't know about his mother, and Sister Braithewaite lived in Peru and other places in South America her whole life. Oh and guess what? I am now a Zone leader. Although most of my old zone is gone, we are getting four new districts tomorrow! I also found out I will be temporarily re-assigned somewhere while my visa is being cleared. I will get my assignment next Friday, and will report that Monday. You can still send mail for a while to the MTC though, because they will forward............................................................ I don't know what else to say, the teaching is fun, the Elders sometimes bug me, I am the tidiest one in my apartment, the church is true, and I have mono.... from sharing cups with someone around four weeks ago, so thank you to one of my friends or family who secretly had mono. Well, I guess that is it for now, can't wait to get your snail mail, and thanks for Paige's address. Can you please find out Trina's email address? Thanks!

Love you,
Elder Norris
